3)Purpose: authors reason for writing
The author is trying to express the confusion and distress that it is like for a young girl when she discovers that she is in a world that looks down on black people. She is trying to explain that people are all equal in her eyes. She explains that “I feel like a brown bag.... against a wall in company with other bags...” and everybody is a different coulered bag with different stuff inside.

Tone: writers attitude towards subject
The tone is explanitory. She is explaining how she feels about the world and her childhood, the concert, and the comparison of people in bags. She uses childhood experiances and a childs view to describe what she is trying to say. This is effective because it is simple and straightforward. Children can be the best narrators because they are truthful and children have nothing to hide and they have no reason for holding back.

im a different, new person now. after a year of dealing with jack ive given it up. we no longer talk, i would be happy if i never saw him again. and im not going to. lol. im starting over. this is the beginning of my new life. yay!
